Using Icons in your Posts

iconsThis is something I am working on implementing, using icons in my posts. You can use them by either using them as bullet points, or by having a specific icon depending on the category you are posting in. I personally like the XP Style Icons offered by Icon Galore, they are very clean and functional. I am working on makeing this blog set up to have a specific icon associated with each category, then each post assigned to that category will have the icon as a watermarked image in the background of the post. I have yet to site down and figure out how to do this, but I will be getting that accomplished soon.

Typing NerdUsing icons and images in your post is a wonderful way to draw your readers attention through the post, as most readers are scanners, it can be very helpful to have images or icons throughout a longer article. Using the right icons can be a great help, you don’t want a random picture of an elephant while you are talking about flowers, unless you are going for shock value, which has worked for some bloggers, but it is dangerous to do so.

Share and Enjoy: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
