Work at Home Jobs - Parameds - Insurance/Medical Records

February 4, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Working at Home

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

A while back I posted about one of the companies I worked for, Parameds.com. I thought I would give you some more details on that today, after a few comments have asked me to add more info. I am limited on the details I can give out, due to the confidentiality agreement, but I will tell you what I can.

Parameds is a company that works with insurance companies to get clients medical records form doctors when they apply for insurance/disibility, etc. I was hired on to work from home as a ‘retriever’ I spent my days, from about 9am to 5pm with a few 1 hour breaks in between, calling Dr.s offices and asking them to send us the records for the patient… pretty easy, but time consuming and annoying when you get someone with an attitude. Anyway, I got paid by the case, so everytime I successfully got a clinic to send the medical records to the head office (sometimes mailed sometimes faxed) I got $4.00, the first month is the hardest, as you will not get paid for a month, but after that is is every two weeks.

The checks start out semi small, but as you go, within 2 months you will have your case load built up and be making steady checks every 2 weeks. I am not able to share the amount of cases I closed every week, nor the details of how long a case takes to close, but to put it in perspective, I worked about 30 hours a week, and after the first month and a half, my checks were at LEAST 7.00 an hour….. so you can do the math and figure around there. This varies with how well you wor, how many calls you make, etc, if you learn quick and do what they tell you to do, then expect that amount, plus or minus a little, but if you do not want to work a full 30-40 hours a week, all during the day, and dont follow rules, you will not make nearly as much.

To apply at Parameds, you just go to the parameds website and click ‘Join’ then send an email to the address at the bottom with the subject of ‘APS Retriever’ and just send your resume in the email along with a short paragraph as to why you want the job. Good luck!
