City based web directory - Grokodile

February 19, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: SEO and Marketing

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

When you have a website, promotion is vital, you will need to submit that site to numerous directories and search engines before you can ever dream of getting a noticeable amount of visitors. A new site called Grokodile recently started and it is of course, free to submit your site, you just find your city and state from the list and click on add/edit site, once you add your site it shows up instantly. I added both of mine to the directory in Lake City, FL. While right now, mine are the only 2 in the city, I am hoping that eventually someone else will come along, as I am really beginning to think that I am the only blogger in the area, if I even mention blogging in public, well, people look at me like I am nuts!

Our town is not yet ‘with it’. Anyway, …

The Rundown… part 3

February 19, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Working at Home, Business Advice

Earlier we discussed getting started working from home as a paid blogger, as a teleservices agent, and as a insurance records retriever. Now we are going to get into some other options in working from home.

Those options I am going to talk about below are alot less reliable, they should be used as extra money only, not to replace your current income. While with these you can easily make a quick 4-500 dollars, it is also one of those where the income will quickly dwindle as you get through all of the opportunities. I am talking about the other ‘get paid to..’ programs. There are a TON out there, but I am only going to go over the three companies that have paid me before, and never defaulted on a payment.

These companies are all the same, you sign up at places for money. …

Get in touch with your Family Tree

February 19, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Technology, Blogging

One of the benefits of working from home is leaving yourself time to play, be it with your kids, the TV, or online, you have the time. I wanted to tell you about ZOOOFit is a company that you can join and create a family tree, and other family members can join, find you, and help build the tree, until you have it all the way back to 12 levels, other countries, etc.

I signed up and it is very neat, you get your own little profile page where you can add in the details, from adding family members to choosing a sponsor. It is very neat and I see alot of potential in this both with networking and finding family members you have lost touch with. It has a great application and design to it and will be a favorite site of mine for a while. …

The Rundown… part 2

February 19, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Working at Home, Business Advice

Earlier we talked about getting started working as a paid blogger. In this post we will talk about getting started as a work from home phone operator.

Phone Operator- TeleServices
This is much easier than you may think. While each company has their own requirements, you can get started with very little. The basic needs for this is going to be a land line (phone), a decent running computer with anti-virus and a high speed connection, and depending on the company, a headset. Some companies require you to have a separate line for home and work, but there are some that do not. If you have a high speed connection, you can accomplish this through Vonage or something similar.

Once you have this set up, you will start applying, some of the companies I personally have worked with are West Telemarketing and Live Ops, there are …

Investment Opportunity - Self Storage

February 19, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Business Advice, Money Matters

When you are looking for a small business, the first thing that comes to you mind may not be to invest in a self storage company, but it is a interesting way to start a business. Take Dean Brown for example, he is the president of of American Steel Buildings, they specilize in helping you set up a business of self storage buildings. Dean did an interview with Xeal Marketing, whom he hired to help him market his site.

In the interview he talks about regular people that they helped to get started in the business. One such guy was a 22 year old out of Texas that they helped by supplying the buildings and helped him get started, and now, 6 years later, he is the largest in the area. As a business, …
