Working from home and stress

April 24, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Blogging

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Some may say that working from home is easy, fun, and care free, well, it is, for a while. Until you realize that the money you bring in makes a difference, and that if you do not make a certain amount each day your family will suffer… that can kick reality in. But don’t go all stressy on me! LOL Take a break everyday and remind yourself why you do what you do, if nothing else, drive to a fast food place or mcDonalds and imaging asking everyone if they want fries with that. That is enough to make someone WANT a prescription drug addiction!! LOL In closing, yes, it can be stressful working from home, but as long as you try not to ever take it for granted you should be fine. Stop and smell the flowers!

What would I do with a million dollars?

April 24, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Money Matters

I was recently asked this in one of many spam emails I get :-) LOL But it is a fun idea to think of, I would probably go back to school, buy a nice house with a beautiful backyard and an office, have a garden with tomatoes, strawberries, some of this comfy teak outdoor furniture to sit in with my new top of the line laptop… a big office setup and lots of maids! :-) Definitely… I could do that! If only that spam email would really give me a million dollars huh? What would you do with a million dollars?

Question of the week 6 - unexpected events?

April 24, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: What I am Doing, Blogging

QOTWCecile, of Work At Home Musings started this meme asking home business bloggers a question every week. This is my sixth entry. This weeks question is;

What do you do about working at home if something unexpected happens? Do you bag it for the day or try to make it up later?

Well, I usually bag it for the day, depending on what it is. Sometimes, rarely, I will try to make it up later that evening if I can, but it is usually very hard to get any work done when hubby is home, he is pretty needy! LOL All of that depends as well on what the unexpected thing is, if it a bad thing- like some one getting hurt, I definitely bag it for the day, I cant focus on writing if I am upset! But if it is just something …

Sensitive Data? Zip it!

April 24, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Business Advice, Technology

Loose lips sink ships, my father used to always say that. When it came to protecting data and us, my dad was on the ball, he kept all of his files in a locked firebox, inside of a locked file, inside of a locked closet! LOL He did not take chances, of course he had a ton of rare coins to keep too. Well, with todays technology, keeping things secure is pretty difficult. But they have ZIP programs, like the free one from www.securezip.com to help combat that problem.

I just went and downloaded the free enterprise edition, all you have to do is enter your email address, and I now have the ability to securely zip up sensitive files before I sent them via email, burn them to a disk, or even just store them. That is a great thing for me and my …

Help finding the Best Web designer for YOU

April 23, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Design

There are a ton of companies out there, both large and small, that offer web design services. It can be an overwhelming task just to find the right company for you to work with. You have so many things to take into account besides cost. Things such as the price of course, even if you have excess amounts of money this will always play a part. The designers portfolio, their attitude, will you work well together, does conversation flow? Etc. When looking at all of these factors it can be daunting! One of the easiest way to mass interview designers is by using a directory, like the outlet for web design. With a featured firms section, offering a great list of professional web design companies for you to choose from. A ton of helpful articles on web site design, as even when you …
