Getting back to my roots

May 3, 2007 | Author: Eve Lester | Filed under: Blogging

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

When I started blogging, I didn’t care about page rank, or search engines. I only cared about you, the reader. As such, I still care about the reader, but I think the Page rank, search engines, time and money has clouded my vision. I have been trying to comment on other blogs, respond to comments, but in that, I have let actual posting fall to the side.

As of now, I do not care what my page rank is, I only care what YOU, as a reader, think, what you want to read about, what do you want to know? I am going to sit down today and come up with some articles about being a home biz blogger, about getting into home business, etc. No more focusing on traffic or page rank. I just want to write.

With my first blog, I did exactly the same thing. I focused on the wrong things (links, trackbacks, etc) instead of great content.

Glad to see you have seen the light.

I didn’t know what PR was until about a month ago. My PR did go down in the past week. The only major thing I’ve done is change my title. I went from Raw vegan Momma to The Raw & The Cooked.
I agree it’s always best to focus on the readers.

SEO is alot of work and a pain. It takes so much time that bloggin becomes second to it. Good for you.

This is exactly what blogging should be about. Writing for the sake of writing. By the way, you’ve been tagged

It’s great that you realized it was more important to focus on your readers than your own blog status. I did the same thing for a short period and my traffic suffered for it. I still pay attention to optimization, but it comes second not first.

Yes, I think you’re right. Many of the SEO tricks are time demanding… so it’s difficult to remain focused on the blog! I made that mistake too, except I got busy on the look of the blog, and kept trying different plugins… Wasted a lot of time, too!
