In yesterday’s post I shared a list of companies you can telecommute with (work from home on the telephone), at least one of those companies, I believe it is the Arise one, they require you to become incorporated before you can work for them. While I still do not fully understand the reasons for this, I do know it is required, and that you will end up making about double the money with them than another company. Also, some of the other companies do not require it, but it can be a bonus. Getting incorporated is not that hard, or expensive surprisingly. There is a company called incParidise that helps all 50 states, say you live in Delaware, just click on the link that says Delaware LLC on the home page and see the details. They have a great section that explains the difference between LLC, Corporation, S-Corp, S-corp., etc. MUCH better than I ever could! Just look at the FAQ section.
The only charge 89.00 plus whatever your state charges for the incorporation. I am almost certain that being incorporated is what you need to be able to get discounts at certain wholesale places, but do not hold me to that, I may be thinking about a business license or a tax thing. You would need to research that of course in your state. I do know that having the INC after your business name will help you look much more professional. And each state has different advantages and benefits to becoming incorporated, like in Nevada, you get multiple tax benefits, like no income or personal tax, reporting breaks, etc.
It is something to look into if you have your own business, just one more thing to make it official.
