The Chicago Tribune wrote an article about BP recently that of course messed up the facts, I am so tired of the media messing things up, while I am not going to get on a terrible political rant about what I think is wrong or right, I AM going to help BP out by correcting some mistakes. It is pitiful to see a credible news source do things like this.
Be sure to read the BP Fact sheet to read all of the info, I am only going to touch on a few points here, the ones I feel are most important. For one, they only send treated water into Lake Michigan, not sludge and pollutants- I mean come on, do you REALLY expect a huge company like BP to make such a serious mistake, people are watching their every move! Secondly, all the water discharged was well within the legal limits, so that was a complete mis=print. And thirdly, they do follow all regulations to make sure everything is safe for both people AND animals.
I am glad BP is taking the viral marketing approach to getting this corrected, I imagine that any other source would have been missed by me, I am not one to watch the news. I figure if something big happens, I will hear about it! :-)
