Amazon Wish Lists, do they work?

I have seen several websites with a amazon wish list posted, I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten things bought for them? It would be an interesting study to do. Here, I will test it now; I want a cookware set, a new King Sized Comforter set, a new couch, a roomba, a bigger house, and less dirty dishes in a day! (I dont know how we do it, but the 2 of us use A LOT of dishes in one day!
