| November 11th, 2007We’ve all heard of mystery shoppers before and often have the fantasy of going into the fanciest restaurants and hotels, being pampered and then reporting back. The reality of the matter is that mystery shopping does exist but for the most part it is no where near as glamorous. If you love shopping why not do it from time to time and get paid?
My family and I were driving through Vermont to visit relatives when we decided to pull over for some gas and ended up visiting McDonald’s. In line I overheard the ladies in front of me discussing mystery shopping. I joined in the conversation and got the low down on mystery shopping as well as the websites to apply at.

I signed up at Shop N Check and actually received a lot of offers. I’ve always had a job and golf excessively so never actually took them up and did an assignment. The common payout is ~$8-15 if I remember correctly and you get to keep the items you purchase. Common jobs are often everyday places you’d spend money anyways so that may interest you.
Typically they request a report written about certain areas that you were made aware of before the job started. It is relaxed where the job needs to be done by a certain date and apart from that it is up to you. Sometimes if they need something done urgently you’ll receive a call from them and those jobs more times than not pay higher.
In order to qualify you will have to fill out some forms and answer some questions. I don’t think it’s overly difficult if you can follow basic instructions and write a simple structured report.

Typically larger outfits are more likely to hire someone which is good for the selection of what you have to buy
