Here is an idea for the work from home type with a twist : Professional Self Storage Management.
Self storage is becoming HUGE business with new competitors sprouting up everywhere. Very large market that is growing and something that has caught my attention.
What makes self storage so popular? We’re running out of space; people are constantly moving; changing jobs and the need for storage is only growing. Once setup these don’t take that much effort to run just a security guard and a few other things.
Basically you are segmenting spaces in a massive climate controlled warehouse and “setting it and forgetting it”. It’s kind of like webhosting only no chances of the server “going down”.
You want to find places on the OUTSKIRTS of town. There are a few reasons for this. It’s convenient for people moving into and out of the city and of course the cost of real-estate is much cheaper.
This isn’t your typical “Work from Home“opportunity however if you do have some money laying around for a larger investment it’s a good thing to get up and go. If you don’t have any money but know some active business men mention it to them. I’m sure they are aware just they probably don’t have time. Also never feel bad about approaching someone for something like this. Most money today is made on OPC ; other people’s cash.
Let’s put it this way; managing a professional self storage facility takes a lot less time and interest then saying running a restaurant or some other startup and once it’s setup and you have an employee chances are you’ll be onto your next plan from the office in your home.

Funny you should mention self storage. I was checking into this business and it was in our master plan, that is until our latest real estate deal tanked:

I’m probably looking at doing some rental cabins instead of self storage at some time in the future when our financial picture is a little better.
