Yes another wonderful project wonderful post
.
Basically the first time I posted about project wonderful campaigns I was doing it at blogs that were 500-50,000 page views a day and around .2$ or .3$ per bid. If you recall I had around 200 possibilities and was close to that number in high bid.
I have a campaign going now that is dramatically reduced in size but it illustrates a trend that I believe is happening over at PW. Now I have a bid of ~$0.20 a day for blogs that have terms: blog, blogging, marketing and a few others related to bloggeries. I am also bidding on terms with a minimum of 100 page views a day. Currently I”m the high bid on 47 of possibly 70 sites in that price range.
Notice the difference!?!? 1 - 2 weeks ago for roughly the same I was a high bid on ~200 sites with min 500 page views a day for the same price as today which is 49 sites with a min page views of 100. They say what a difference a day makes; wow what a difference a week or two make!
This is great news for those who are publishers though. I’ve seen it myself; the adbox on our blogging forum went from $1.2 a day to it’s current $4.20 a day! Obviously everything is tentative and who knows how long it will last but this backs up the data that I found running campaigns. Prices are increasing and this is great if you want to hold the widget on your blog but obviously bad for guys like me.
When I hit this in it’s prime I had the highest (lowest!?) all time alexa ranking of ~6,000 on the day. Then my stats started to tapper off until I went to the campaign and saw I was active on none. If I wanted to run that same campaign with the ~200 high bids… Wow that would get expensive.
Either way they say everything in life is timing; now is the time to do some advertising on project wonderful before prices continue to adjust in favor of the publisher!
