Entrecard Dropping Tip - Do It Like The Pros!

February 21, 2008 | Author: Dave | Filed under: SEO and Marketing

Entrecard is a fantastic tool to drive traffic to your website, but one of the key components to making it work for you is to drop cards yourself.

One place that most people like to use for links to drop on is the inbox on their Entrecard dashboard. This is a strip running across the top of your dashboard, displaying the cards of the last 15 people to drop theirs on your site. Clicking each of these takes you to their Entrecard profile, where you can click through to their site and drop your card. This is called reciprocal dropping, and is a great way to boost your Entrecard traffic.

But there’s an easier way.

At the top of your Entrecard dashboard, there’s an invisible link. It’s located just above and to the right of the “t” in “On you widget”, below the RSS button.

Click it.

What this link leads to is a page displaying the cards of the last 99 people to drop on your site, and here’s the best part: these are all direct links, not links to Entrecard profiles!

This helps in two ways; first, instead of having the last 15 droppers on your site displayed, you have one short of 100. The second (and most important) feature of this “hidden page” is this…it cuts the number of clicks to reach each site in half.

This will speed things up for you quite a bit while reciprocal dropping. Couple this page with a Firefox addon like Snap Links, and you can do quite a bit of dropping in no time at all.

Thanks greatly for this new trick! It’s revolutionalized my life! No more wasting 2-3hrs trying to get 300 drops. I use IE, but what I’ve done is that I open 10 @ a time in new tabs, as the last ones are loading, the first one is ready to drop. As I drop, I close the window. Once I’m done, I go on to the next 10.

Definitely makes life a lot easier. I”m glad it’s helped you and thanks for taking the time to let us know!

I need to start dropping again soon; I’ve been spending most of my time trying to make sure the new server is setup 100% correct before making it go live. Alittle planning can go a long way on the net

Best of luck with Entrecard and the movie forum you’re starting. You may want to put your EC card in the Forum if that’s the main thing you’re pushing… (That’s what I did).

Wow! Nice Trick! This will definitely make my life easier! Thanks Dave.

I have always been challenged of the fact that there’s no way to go directly to the sites of the people who had dropped their cards at mine. Now this solves all!

Hey Rob, How would I put the Entrecard in my phpBB forum? I tried to add it in the footer file but it didn’t work. Could you give me a quick e-mail? Thanks!

P.S. I really like your blog. I’m only subscribe to yours and another guy’s feeds that help out new bloggers with marketing, SEO, etc. Thanks again!

Hi Jean,

Begin editing Header file. If it’s in the footer no one will notice it and they definitely won’t bookmark to make on their daily rounds.

Put it somewhere loud and proud on your header. If you’re having problems please send me a message at the Blog forum. I think you’re a member there correct?

Also thanks for subscribing

Hey! I recently noticed this feature myself. When thinking about displaying the last droppers I came up with a widget to use in eg. Wordpress that can read from that list and display them in your blog.
You can take a look at the widget: Entrelist
I think it is nice to show appreciation to the ones that has come trough for a drop/visit.

Regards
