So, you are sitting here in your office reading blogs, news and forums, but there is one thing that is bothering you. The internet is slow on your boring old DSL connection. You think to yourself, “man, if only I had faster internet, I would be able to surf faster and spend less time waiting online!”

Well, my friend, I think Comcast has just what you need to cure the slow internet browsing blues. Comcast has announced to offer an internet service up to 50mps for as little as $150 per month! I know, sounds crazy right? What the heck do I need 50 megabits per second for?

I’ll tell you. When you want to download a movie in high definition, 50mps will be your best friend. According to Comcast, you will be able to download a full length HD movie in 16 minutes. This is their big selling point with the conversion of regular TV to watching shows and movie online coming closer by the day.

“The technology that enables Comcast to increase download speeds is called ‘channel bonding’ and uses cable pipes more efficiently to deliver video, Internet and voice.”

Comcast describes this new service as “wideband” and hope to reach at least 20% of its subscriber base by the end of the year. What does this mean for you? Well, if you spend many moments on the internet browsing, blogging, buying or selling, this service could drastically reduce the amount of time it takes you to complete tasks.

Pros of having fast(er) service

Making your life and job easier should always be the first thing on your mind. When I blog, I fly around the internet in such of information and research like a mad man. Now, if I could browse faster I could increase the value of the time I am spending online.

Although the service is pricey at $150 per month (about $100 more than normal service Comcast provides), it is worth its weight in gold. At tax time, if you are a home business owner, this type of service would be a write off at a certain %.

Cons of having fast(er) service

Well, there is always a catch, right? Some of the cons for having super fast service might include upgrading old equipment, like routers or modems and maybe even a computer upgrade as well. That’s really only an initial cost, but it can be a con if you do not want to upgrade at the time.

Check out the information at www.comcast.com and make the decision for yourself. Don’t forget you might have to wait for availability in your area so don’t toss that old Compaq out the window yet!

Nice piece Sukosaki. But for $150/mo, we can have an unlimited hosting for a year, maybe $50 a year will be much more attractive!
