If you are a person involved in a business, then you know the importance of marketing. You also understand how poor attention to marketing will create serious issues within your business. So the question is, “Are there any effective marketing routes that a home business owner can use?” And the answer is - YES!
Marketing through home party sales can be identified as one of the most effective methods of marketing with business opportunity companies. It can also be identified as a low tech, high-touch route to network marketing.
The main idea behind home party sales is that it gives people the opportunity to try out products before actually buying them. Home parties also give potential customers the opportunity to ask questions and get immediate answers. Therefore, …
My Thoughts on Run of Site Advertising
April 9, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: Business Advice
Well it’s been almost 2 months since I posted about how this blog has gone run of site for advertising. I thought now would be a great time to share some of my thoughts on the whole process.
What I liked about run of site advertising was that you got a good chunk of change up front and didn’t have to worry about monetization optimization etc for a period of time. Then again this blog is basically just a hobby so any money that I do make on it is gravy and it’s already paid for itself more than twice over the initial investment I made to purchase it in November. Notice the only thing I really liked about run of site was the chunk of change up front?
What I disliked about run of site was that for some reason the minute you lock your advertising abilities people come out of …
Download Compete Toolbar Now - Trust me!

Recently in my travels through the internet I came across a blog post by SEO Design Solutions which discussed 4 must have SEO Tools. Being an SEO student myself I’m always eager to learn what some seasoned vets are suggesting. Little did I know I was going to find the coolest new tool I have found in quite some time.
The Compete Analytics Toolbar is awesome. It lists how trusted a site is and most importantly mentions a people count. If you go to there website you can even compare sites. No longer do we need to look at Alexa which is skewed to all heck. It’s awesome to go to a site and see how many people came through in the last 30 days. What you’ll find instantly is that some of the sites you thought were great with low alexa get very few real people …
Are You Abusing Your Mailing List?
April 7, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: Business Advice
Before reading on ask yourself candidly am I abusing my mailing list subscribers? Sadly I believe that many email list admins are abusing the good nature of there subscribers. I’m going to discuss my thoughts on it and what you can do as someone privileged to have a list in the first place to use it with respect.
To begin if you are lucky enough to have a long list of email addresses of people in your niche that have opted in and agreed to receive updates from you don’t abuse it. Sounds simple doesn’t it ? Sadly I see people abusing this all the time sending updates that shouldn’t be sent alerting us about things we really don’t care about.
1) Don’t send a message every time something new happens at your website.
Listen; you may be incredibly enthusiastic about your website / blog and that’s good you have to be but …
Free Wordpress Themes
April 5, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: Blogging
Free Wordpress Themes are a way of life in the wordpress community. Besides the obvious reasons of owning your content and having creative control over what you wish to publish one of the major benefits of using wordpress on your own domain is the sheer volume of free themes available for download.
If you’re looking for free themes please click here.
Try out a whole variety of free ones before you finally settle on one and tweak it a bit. Remember part of having a free theme is leaving links at the bottom to those who sponsored the theme. If you don’t want those links and really like a particular artist I’d recommend you contact them and ask if they can quote on a custom theme. Custom themes set your blog apart but it’s good to know you don’t need to rush into one. You can use a free one …
