Wow,
What happened to the last week? In my defense I was on a business trip for most of it and had no clue of my login as I am always on desktops back home. That being said I have a good number of posts ready for the next few days which should not only be informative but also fun.
In my Twitter Journey’s I came across a post about OCD being an Online Marketer’s Worst Threat.
Yes you will notice that I was the first commenter as I was wasting time in my hotel room when I saw it. Ask yourself a few honest questions:
- How much time do you spend checking your stats?
- How much time do you waste oscillating between ideas?
- How much of the time are you too lazy to work yet not to lazy to just click around?
Water, Energy, Everything will always follow the path of least resistance if you don’t direct it somewhere else. It’s natural so don’t feel bad if you’re caught in the rut. The secret is to realize when you’re doing things that aren’t beneficial. That being said time keeps ticking so the sooner you realize you have pointless time wasting habits the sooner you can right them.
To fix this I recommend you make 1-3 goals a day depending on your time online. 1-3 doesn’t sound like a lot but honestly how many days have gone by where you’ve been online all day but you really didn’t get anything done? I’ll admit it’s happened to me numerous times; more times then I’d like to admit.
Secret is to have a plan and work the plan. Before you even TURN YOUR PC ON for the morning. Know exactly what you want to do. Do them and when they are done THEN go into your cycle because your useless cycle should be eating up leisure time; not work time. That being said just checking your stats is a pretty lame way to spend your leisure time isn’t it? Especially if you have a loved one in the house who would like to spend time with you.
If you want to eat a whale you must do it one bite at a time; same goes for building a business online, at home or anywhere. Plan and work your plan.
That’s my rant but think about it… The more you know about your tendencies both productive and destructive the more you’ll be able to help yourself improve.
