Hello,
It has been QUITE SOME TIME since I have updated here, yes? Lot’s has happened, let me enlighten you.
If you read the “About Me” section of this blog, you will know that it was always my dream to make a decent income from the internet and other passive means. Only my dream was different, it was to leave the rat race behind and go venture the world, experiencing new things and discovering strange places.
On September 4th, 2009 I left the office for the last time, for a long time. I will not say that I will never return to an office as one day, I probably will but it will be on my own terms, doing something I love.
For now, I’ve been traveling the globe blogging and dabbling in the “Mother Market” aka stocks.
This blog went offline for awhile due to random reasons but it is back and I’m proud to report that if you do have a dream, you do hold it dear and you do work towards it, it’s possible. That said your dream should be REALISTIC to ones talents and abilities but it’s possible no less.
I’m writing to you from Singapore. I’ve been traveling since September 16th, 2009 and have been to places including but not limited to: Vancouver, Victoria, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Bangkok, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi, Kuala Lumpur and after this, Bali then somewhere I have yet to determine but looking like back to Bangkok to get some work done and just relax in a cheap place with a plethora of dining options.
You can do what you want, you just have to pay the price.

I am smiling while reading your posting. I enjoyed your positive attitude in that you are doing what you want on your own terms and if you feel like it then you will return to the office, but not until then.

Good one mate! I find it inspiring hearing stories like yours. I left my corporate job about 3 years ago and started a few ecommerce websites. Although the websites make good money, my reason for starting a home business was to get away from the long commute to and from work and to get flexible hours so I could spend more time with my family.
One quick comment: I urge anyone who’s considering leaving your day job to consider doing what I did as it worked a treat. I started my ecommerce websites and worked on them in the evenings and weekends for about 12 months before leaving my job. It was really hard work but when I finally left my job I was stress free and not worried about a lack of cashflow as my business was already up and running.
