HomeBizBlogger has Gone Run of Site
February 11, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: What I am Doing
Some of you may be wondering why I’d remove the project wonderful box after talking about it so much. Someone approached me and asked if they could rent out exclusive advertising for two months. As of now this is just a hobby of mine more of an autotelic activity so I figured why not?
What is Run of the Site?: Run of Site is when an advertiser purchases all the ad spots. In this case it’s a sitewide, button on the side, another banner to come etc… It’s common in other types of industries but less in Make Money Online / Business opportunities but I’m a different kind of guy so we’ll see.
In two months from now I’ll replace my ads but we’ll do this little Run of Site test and see how it works. Some would say you can make more doing individually and that may be possible …
Air Travel - Hooray for Delays!
February 9, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: What I am Doing
Nothing like air travel; get to see the world without the traffic! As quick as it can be it can also be a major downer when the weather plays with you. Let me tell you about my week.
I flew into Toronto Pearson airport from Ottawa in a middle of a whiteout blizzard. Left Ottawa 1 hour late, waited on tarmack 1 hour, when arriving at Toronto circled for 30 minutes, waited on tarmack for 45 minutes, waited 30 minutes for luggage and then finally got to the cabs. Since 100 flights had been canceled; 150+ people in line; 50 or so in line for a limo. Average time to get Downtown (27KM) and back; 3 hours!
Luckily I was staying near the airport so I went to a shuttle; I prefer a cab because you just walk right in but a shuttle is free so hey why not especially when there …
Negative Effects of Caffeine - I Quit!
January 15, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: What I am Doing
I’ve been an on again off again coffee addict basically since I started working 9-5 ~4 years ago. I’m ready to quit and also curious about the negative effects of caffeine consumption. I’ve quit before and am decidedly more productive and happy without it!
Before I dive into the negative effects let me say that I think depending on who you are as a person caffeine / coffee may have benefits that help you throughout the day but for others it’s just detrimental. I have a LOT of energy to begin with. I’m one of those people who spring out of bed landing in their clothes do a somersault down the stairs and a cartwheel out the door.
I’m exaggerating slightly but I really don’t need coffee or caffeine. What I find is that when I start drinking it I keep drinking more and more and more until I get headaches from …
New Years Resolutions and Goals
January 1, 2008 | Author: Rob | Filed under: What I am Doing
Nothing like the pressure of a new year to get your online efforts kick started and some strides in the right direction in other parts of your life. As per usual I have many goals for this year and I have 365 opportunities to make them a reality.
I’m not going to bore you with all of mine however I would like to do more niche marketing and really diversify my online income across numerous sites and streams. I’d also like to increase Adsense and other contextual advertising revenue by targeting higher ranking keywords in some under developed or emerging niches.
Basically I’d like to make 2008 the year of research and less action. With overwhelming amounts of information at our fingertips it’s important to plan, plan and plan before beginning anything. It’s easy to waste your time doing things you won’t follow through with because you haven’t thoroughly thought them …
