Working from a home office isn’t all fun and games. There’s more to it than having extra flexibility with your time (like being able to sleep in) and not having to dress up for work. Working from home is also full of challenges, distractions and pit stops. However, if you know what the distractions are, you can better deal with them, therefore working with more productivity. Knowledge is power.
Family - Be it a husband that demands your attention, or children running and playing while you are focusing, family can pose a threat to your productivity. Try to have a regular schedule and let your family know when it is, they will be less likely to bother you if they know when it ends. For smaller children, I recommend hiring a babysitter to come in for a few hours a day and entertain the kids …

Time Management Day 5- Accountability

One thing about blogging, you have a little bit of accountability. Take advantage of this, if you have a task to complete, or just a goal you want to work towards, tell people! Sometimes just knowing that other people know about your to-do list makes it a higher priority, heck you never know when someone is going to comment and ask what ever happened with that post right? Case in point, a while back I attempted to quit smoking, it didn’t work but it lasted alot longer than ever before because I had a group of people rallying me on. And the day I had to come online and say I failed, well, that was ALMOST enough to quit again! This method may not have worked with quitting smoking but it has proven useful for a bunch of other tasks.

I cant stress this point enough, an organized space is an efficient space! I you have to spend 15 minutes hunting down a pen or paper, well, you just wasted 15 minutes! This applies to both you office space and your computer…. we will get to that in a minute. Ok, first step in organizing your office space is making sure you have enough storage; this does not have to be expensive, take advantage of all of the sales and coupon sites, A few great storage product companies are Problem Solvers, Tupperware.com
